How Often Should You Clean Your Storefront Windows?

When hired by a store business owner or manager, we are often asked, “How often should I get these windows cleaned?”

Our general recommendation is every two weeks for most businesses with a storefront like a retail store or a restaurant. This provides the best balance between affordability and having your windows consistently clean. If every two weeks is not in your budget, we recommend a minimum of once a month, or about every four weeks. After a month, your windows will definitely be more on the dirty side but still keep your windows looking new, with bright shiny frames, and crystal clear glass panes with minimal fingerprints and dust buildup.

There are a few other important factors to consider. How much foot traffic do you get? Are you near a busy road? Do you frequently have small children touching your windows? Do you serve food and have tables near the windows? If the answers to any of these questions is yes, you may want to consider weekly window cleaning, especially for high use areas.

What if you have extra high windows that do not get dirty quickly? High windows often do not need cleaned as often, we usually recommend two or four times a year depending on your budget. Your lower windows can be cleaned every few weeks while the upper windows can be cleaned every few months.

Why is it so important to have your storefront cleaned regularly? Because clean windows will greatly increase your business’s curb appeal and show you take a lot of pride in what you do. Customers will notice if you have the best looking store in the plaza and will want to see what you offer. You’re already on your way to a cleaner and brighter storefront!
